..that is the question... So I go and purchase the 5 new star wars muggs this morn... And see all these target stickers on it.... Did hasbro officially announce this a wave or did us muggers jus call it that? Ones like from comic con, previews, ent. Earth, and tru released ones with stickers but were never called waves.... And since these are only target exclusives, would they be considered an actual wave? Or is it a wave because more than a 2-pack (like thanos/redskull, ackbar/shadowtrooper, jigsaw/punisher) was released this time around consisting of 5 new ones and 3 htf ones. Or maybe a target wave?*shrugs*

Hasbro hasn't announced anything since like, July. I've contacted them directly to see what the official deal is, so hopefully they'll get back to me before the weekend. I'll keep you all posted.

Or maybe other stores will get it a lot later but not right now like target has I.e. Epic's unreal tournament 3 was an exclusive to ps3 but then finally released to the xbox360 like a year later...

Nah, with store exclusives like this, they definitely stay at that location.

So I guess this is just a Target exclusive wave now that the official wave 8 has been announced Obviously it was a Target EX wave. It says right on the boxes "Only at Target".................

I don't think it was so black and white. Again, let's say the Target wave was Feb's wave and the next SW wave didn't come out until April, then the Target wave became the scheduled eighth wave. Of course, none of this matters with Feb's wave announced yesterday, but still, I don't see how this was so 100% definitive without looking at the case they come in (which IS the ONLY definitive proof, either way).

I don't see how this was so 100% definitive without looking at the case they come in (which IS the ONLY definitive proof, either way). and someone on MMF posted a picture of the actual box that the target exclusives come in, compared to a box of a standard wave. standard waves actually say 'wave x' on them, whereas the target case says nothing about a wave anywhere. you might not like it, but i REALLY don't think these are a wave... just a lot of exclusives all shipping together at once.

I don't understand where everybody gets that I'm defending it one way or another; I'm withholding judgement until we have concrete facts. I have no stance on this, nor do I think it's even the slightest bit important what we call it. You can call it the Bananarama Mix Tape Wave and I could care less, the important thing is that we get more new Muggs. However, if what you say is true and there is no specific wave on the shipment box, then it's definitively 100% a Target exclusive wave, just as if it states 2009 Wave 2, then it's 100% definitively Wave 8.

Oh my goodness, is this REALLY improtant? You are getting new Muggs, you are getting them and should be happy. It doesn't matter if they are a "wave," "exclusives," or golden cepters. They are 4-6 Muggs being released at the same time, so it is a WAVE. How is this such a big deal for some people?

I agree entirely, jayp. Plus we got to the bottom of the mystery this way.
