I always put $30-40 aside for the holidays to buy some toys for less fortunate children (I'm not made of money, but I love toy shopping and since I don't have kids of my own, it's the one time of the year I can buy for some kids), and it just dawned on me: this year is Mighty Muggs for the donation bin! Anybody else gonna buy a bunch of Muggs for charity this holiday season?
It can't get here quick enough, this 125 heat index crap is getting old. Fast!

Why don't we make this a Mighty Mugg lounge effort? Maybe we can send some to Jose or PayPal Jose or something? That'd be pretty darn awesome if you ask me.
I would be willing to help. ;D

I'm actually going to do something awesome in the fall. I've got a decent YouTube fanbase (youtube.com/zoopsoul -- LANGUAGE WARNING!), and I'm going to make a DVD for $20 in October. I'll take out $5 of every DVD sold to cover S&H and blank DVDs, but the other $15 will go to buying Muggs for Toys for Tots.

Good thinkin', HRC! Thanks! I'll be posting a vid to announce my charity DVD this week, guys, so please take a look. If you like video games and can tolerate the strongest language on YouTube, feel free to check out my page and see if there's anything you're interested in on my page. I do "Talkthroughs", where I play a game and talk about it throughout. I'll also be taking requests for the DVD, too, so if there's any games you'd like to see enough that you'd pay for it, please let me know.

Now there's a creative idea ... thanks guys. We definitely appreciate it when the Lounge community does things like this.. Perhaps at some point, Jose might even organize something "official" under the Lounge banner for some worthy cause ... maybe a Toys for Tots type of thing... what does anybody think of that??

this might be a good way to clear out those commons we all have at our stores so they can take stock out of the back or order some more. in ca we are invaded by hulks. If only the walmarts here would put them on clearance.

Hey maybe we can suggest that Hasbro itself do such a thing.... (always like to be able to put a little pressure on companies for a good cause). It would be great for PR (tell that to your bosses) and it might even increase sales afterwards due to the exposure (the execs will love that!). More importantly, it would do some much needed work to make kids smile... what about it Hasbro??

Who's dennis? (though I do consider myself an occasional menace!).
With the large number of Loungers, I'm sure that someone here would have the time to work with Jose on this (once we tell him..lol) Unfortunately, I too, am otherwise engaged with both work related (IT) duties and other things. Anybody else feeing altruistic?

Y'know, when I was a kid, and my mom told me some kids didn't get any toys for Christmas because their parents were too poor, it damn near broke my heart.
To my rational, adult mind, it seems silly in hindsight, since there are so many kids that don't get enough to eat, let alone luxuries like toys. But it still gets under my skin.
I use Christmas as an opportunity to clean out my toy closet of all the stuff I never opened, bought doubles of, etc, and make a big fat drop-off at the T4T bin. Sadly, almost every year that bin is completely empty until I show up.
I don't know where I'm with all this. I'm getting all veklempt! Talk amongst yourselves.
