Wow this was tough! if you're doing this with plastic heads be extremely careful the plastic plugs break very easily! the trooper plug broke completely off which was fine, I managed to jimmy the luke head off with half the plug so I was able to pop it into the trooper body and retain the swivel...

since you did it with a plastic head. how much damage did the body take? Theres 2 parts here on the cheap plastic muggs 1. the head has a plug (attached to the head) which snaps into the swivel base of the body. 2. the swivel base doesnt come out as its just under the lip of the body. I found this out the hard way as i completely snapped the plug off the stormtrooper head while trying to remove. I was lucky with luke tho i managed to get his head of with majority of the plug intact so i was able to snap the head into the swivel of the trooper body and it works. It's not pretty under the head but hey I got it to work.

i attempted to do this with a plastic head. i bought a extra luke at walmart noticed it was plastic then boiled it while at work. once it was nice and hot i yanked on the head but it wouldn't come off. noticing it was attached to a plug and inserted into the body i knew the body would have to come apart to get the head off. i used an exacto knife and screw driver and pryed the body apart. there are 6 columns total in the body and you have to snap off the two inside before the body will separate. the problem i had is the body takes some damage while trying to pry it apart making it pretty ugly. after attaching it all back together i noticed the arms were pretty loose so i said screw it i put luke back in the box and returned it to walmart hahaha. i found doing the swap with the vinyl heads to be a million times easier

I want to do this with Han. How do you tell the plastic head from the vinyl head without opening the box? I hate buying a Stormie and another Han and get home, only to find out that they are plastic.

I hate buying a Stormie and another Han and get home, only to find out that they are plastic. the only real way to tell without opening the box is to try and tilt the box in a way to see if there is a seam running on the head from ear to ear. its hard to tell sometimes but if you tilt the box at just the right angle you can see a very light seam. if you see the seam...you have a plastic head!!

Ha. I just had this idea today, and thought I was the first. Ah well. I'd have a hard time finding more stormtroopers anyway.
Hey, for that headless Han body, you could paint the skin a darker color, then pop on a Lando head, for when he was wearing that outfit.
But then you'd be stuck with a headless Lando body... =)

Well, I haven't opened any of my Mighty Muggs out of the box yet so I don't really know the difference in materials yet. But I've had this idea in mind since wave 1. But just a few questions for everyone. 1. How do I know what material they are made of? (My friend said one is heavier and feels just made better...is this the plastic or vinyl one) 2. Are all of the new waves made from plastic or do they vary?
