I read this on a other site, any answers?....... Mighty Muggs HELP! Does anyone know anything about a Star Wars Mighty Muggs wv. 5 recall? I went to a local Wal-Mart a bit ago and found Asajj, Dooku, and Anakin and wanted to buy them, but they wouldnt ring up. The cashier then got all annoyed and didn't want to help figure out what was wrong so she called someone else to help me.
This person then called the main Walmart toy guy and he came over and he kind of like made this face when he saw what i was getting. His eyes like got all wide and he froze up for a second, and my lady noticed this too, so that was fishy.
Anyway he scanned them and they wouldnt ring up and he said, "oh yeah, these are recalled. I cant sell you these."
Does anyone know of this being true? I mean they had a whole center display full of stromtrooper muggs and Hans and Fetts. But why would only these be recalled. They are brand new also, I thought? And I doubt a case was sent with only one of each figure, so someone else must have bought some.
Any help is appreciated.

yeah laziness has to be, I would think Hasbro would have placed a recall warning on their homepage or something, as well as Walmart is required to place a recall listing in either the customer serivce area or the site to store pickup area to inform their customers of faulty products. So you could check to see if there is any recall listing for the muggs at that store. But I remember reading a few months back when everyone was having to recall stuff made in china for lead paint, Hasbro was the only one that had no recalls! So I seriously doubt it there is any recall. Just another lazy american wanting to get paid for doing nothing. Why are there so many of those in our country now?

yeah, the recall thing sounds a bit strange to me...however, it may not be out of the question either. it still may be the early stages of getting the information out to retailers. maybe we should sit this out a bit and see what comes in the day's ahead.

No, I don't think it's a recall. Someone else here went to buy the wave muggs and they weren't in the "wal mart system" yet so the guy said he couldn't sell them yet. She demanded and persisted and finally got them (woo hoo!).

I just got a set from a different retailer than wal mart and they also were unable to ring them up. I had to grab a obi wan and they just scanned that 4 times.

I ran into the problem with Wal-mart before. I believe its because they aren't officially released til 9-1-08. I know, I know, people are already buying them in some stores but you know how walmart can be.

I got Rex & Asajji today. They are not in the systems yet. Like sam said^^ They just broke the release date. My walmart cashier just asked the price & typed it in. No Count Dooku or Anakin though. As for the 'wide eyes" I would guess the guy wanted them for himself or someone he knows. I know several store I don't go for "Hot" toys at, because they never make it to the shelf. I suppose I can't blame them, many days I wish I worked in the stock room so I could have the good stuff for myself.

Don't you just have visions of the tiny apartment of the lowly stockroom clerk being filled to the proverbial rafters with all of the exclusives, variants, and generally difficult to find items that everyone wants. The quiet little stockroom clerk sits in a cozy chair surrounded by stacks and stacks of MIB prizes as he waits for the value to rise, as he eagerly checks the current value on Ebay and laughs maniacally to himself....
BWAH-HAH-HAH!!!
He is evil incarnate.
