A little bit of (much needed) ratings news: www.syfyportal.com/news425465.htmlA few of last week's viewers were found, but "Heroes" continues it struggle to return to its first (and even second) season prominence.
Monday's episode earned a 5.2 rating/8 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. That was 4 percent over last week's series low, and 40.5 percent better than its "Chuck" lead-in. However, it's still 6 percent off its Season 3 average so far this year, and 21 percent below Season 2's average.
Both shows did little to help NBC against its competitors, Zap2it reported. NBC finished fourth with a 4.5/7, but almost tied Fox -- which aired the Major League Baseball's National League Championship Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers -- in total viewers.
NBC did a bit better with adults 18 to 49, tying ABC for second with a 3.2 behind a 4.0 from CBS.
In terms of audience stability, both "Heroes" and "Chuck" faltered a bit, but both remain within the 90 percentile, based on a comparison of the show's average rating versus its overnight high as compiled by SyFy Portal.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.

Well, the good news didn't last.... the ratings have hit the lowest point so far.. www.syfyportal.com/news425513.html'Heroes' Sinks To Series Ratings Low By MICHAEL HINMAN Source: Zap2it Oct-28-2008 Things aren't looking too good for "Heroes," but luckily it still remains one of NBC's signature shows. Monday's episode earned a 4.9 rating/7 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research, the lowest rating the show has ever received. That's a 4 percent drop from the previous week, and is now officially off nearly 20 percent from its already low-rated season premiere. It was up 22 percent over its lead-in of "Chuck," which is holding steady at an estimated 4.0/7, Zap2it reports, and remains NBC's top-rated Monday night show. Because of the aborted World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Philadelphia Phillies -- which ended in a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning -- there was no "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," although the show is expected to return in time for November sweeps. Unfortunately, "Heroes" beat only programming on The CW, and finished behind not only baseball, but comedy reruns on CBS including "Two and a Half Men" and "Gary Unmarried." "Chuck" also was beat by World Series pre-game coverage as well as reruns on CBS, finishing up what was probably a forgettable night for the Peathingy network. NBC finished the night in fourth place with a 4.1/6, well behind the third place finish of CBS at 6.0/9.

Thats depressing lol I'm not sure why people are losing interest in the show. The episodes have really picked up speed, have a lot more action, less time travel, and they're writing off all the new characters that people didnt like. It'd be a shame if it went off the air but if its ratings are worse then 2 1/2 Men reruns, it doesnt sound too promising =(

www.syfyportal.com/news425526.htmlNBC Fires Two 'Heroes' ProducersSource: Variety Nov-02-2008 With "Heroes" teetering on the edge of cancellation, NBC is trying to return its signature show back to glory. And it's starting with a little house cleaning. The network fired co-executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb Sunday, ending a relationship between "Heroes" and the two that has lasted since the very beginning. The two are sharing the blame for the errant creative direction "Heroes" has underwent the past two seasons as well as what's being described as significant budget overruns that is costing the network $4 million per episode, according to Variety. "Heroes" is averaging a 5.4 rating/8 share so far this season in overnight ratings after seven episodes, down 18 percent off its average rating last season, which already had steeply declined from the first season. The strike-shortened second season of "Heroes" was critically panned as viewers deserted, and even fewer have returned to give the show a second chance in the third season, despite a renewed effort to keep the story moving and interesting. Loeb joined "Heroes" in 2006 after spending 12 episodes with ABC's signature program "Lost" as a supervising producer. Before that, he spent three years on The WB's "Smallville" first as a consulting producer and later a supervising producer, according to Internet Movie Database. Loeb also wrote three episodes of "Heroes," all in the first season. Alexander joined "Heroes" after spending time with both "Lost" and another J.J. Abrams project, "Alias" for ABC. Alexander wrote four episodes of "Heroes," including last week's "Eris Quod Sum."

Still falling ratings.... hit a new low: (It may soon be time to stick a fork in it ... it looks like it's almost done... ). www.syfyportal.com/news425555.html'Heroes' Drops To Series Low ... AgainNBC did some house-cleaning, but "Heroes" continues to struggle to find an audience.
The one-time network signature show earned a 4.7 rating/7 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research, it's lowest rating to date.
That was down 4 percent from last week, and 11 percent off its average so far this year. But even "Heroes" third season average rating is suffering so far this year, its 5.3/8 through eight episodes down nearly 20 percent from last year's already low 6.6/10 average.
"Heroes" did nothing more than keep NBC off the bottom for the 9 p.m. hour, ahead of "Prison Break" on Fox and "One Tree Hill" on The CW. It finished well behind "Dancing with the Stars" and "Samantha Who?" on ABC, which averaged a 9.8/15, and comedies on CBS that averaged a 7.5/11, according to Zap2it.
"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" held steady from the previous week, bringing in an estimated 3.2/5, finishing behind the pack, including "Chuck," which grabbed a 3.9/6 for NBC. Both were clobbered by "Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother," which averaged a 6.1/9 for CBS, and the 11.7/17 from "Dancing" on ABC.
ABC won the night with a 9.1/14, while NBC was able to only pick up a 3.8/6. Fox didn't do much better, earning a 3.2/5 for fourth place, while The CW earned a 2.0/3.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. It really is too bad that it looks like it will be canceled, but I have to say, last nights episode was kind of pointless. I don't see a reason to showing all of that backstory, it didn't seem neccassary.

And the "how low can it go" slide continues... www.syfyportal.com/news425587.html 'Heroes' Finds Another Ratings Low'
Nov-20-2008
If Tim Kring is ready to make some changes to the format of "Heroes" to bring viewers back, he better hope there's a show to do it with.
The NBC series earned a 4.6 rating/7 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research, another record in "Heroes'" smallest audience book. With that rating, "Heroes" beat only "Prison Break" on Fox and "One Tree Hill" on The CW, and was murdered by "Dancing With the Stars" and "Samantha Who" on ABC, and CBS' comedy block.
That audience is 2 percent off the previous series low "Heroes" earned last week, and is nearly 25 percent off its season premiere audience, which already was considered low compared to its second season. Click here to find out more!
The only highlight for "Heroes" is that it's still NBC's most-watched program on Mondays. Its audience grew 15 percent over "Chuck," which earned a 4.0/6, according to Zap2it, and "My Own Worst Enemy" -- which NBC has already canceled -- lost 43 percent of "Heroes" audience.
"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" seems to have found its ratings groove for Fox, but it's still not anywhere near as high as it should be to ensure a life into the third season. "Sarah Connor" earned a 3.4/5, finishing ahead of only "Gossip Girl" on The CW. The Fox series audience did grow more than 6 percent from its previous new episode, but it's still off 17 percent from its season premiere, which was below the ratings of its first season that almost had it cancelled then.
On Tuesday, "Fringe" stayed on course for Fox, earning a 5.7/8, up 7.5 percent from the week before, but still losing a significant portion of its lead-in audience from "House," this time nearly 28 percent.
Although it had only "Heroes" to really guide it, NBC barely finished ahead of Fox for third place on Monday with a 3.7/6. Fox finished with a 3.5/5. Fox moved into third place on Tuesday with a 6.8/10, more because of "House" than anything else.
I've seen too many shows I have enjoyed killed by bad ratings and too many "fans" in deep denial that they don't matter ... right up until the end.
Have you ever sent an email to a network, xssocx, trying to save a show? It harder than saying that ratings don't matter.
I've participated when such campaigns have worked, and when they haven't.
Knowledge is a good thing.
Reporting on positive or negative ratings can somethings spur people to support their "shows" ... or wave them good bye.

Heroes: Fugitives looks like it could breathe some fresh life into our beloved series. Looks very interesting. Come on Super Bowl Sunday and Heroes Monday. Hope there is a two hour premiere.
And does anyone think Sylar is truly dead? Hope not.

Sylar isn't dead, he's just been crippled. When someone removes the glass severing his spinal cord, he'll heal up. Now, who that someone will be is the real question. Who is left in the Hero-verse that would unleash Sylar.

Fugitives looks promising, but I can't say I'm not worried about the whole cancelation factor.
