At this point, I think it's just a mad scramble to keep Mighty Muggs afloat. First, Target, then Online now TRU. Just went through the offial media press releases for Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers and Marvel and the only presentation to even mention Mighty Muggs was the Star Wars presentation, and even that was just a small blurb to mention that the Muggs were TRU exclusives. so Jose does that lead us to the iminent death of muggs? Definitely. Hasbro just doesn't care, sadly. We've done very well in advertising and buying the product. This is just the case of a distributor not caring about the consumer.

I mean would it have helped if they had different characters out to bring more buyers? well, at least if it does end, we can say we have them all

Welp, guess that's the reason I needed to stop collecting them. I have 1 TRU in the area and they are crap horrible at stocking them, which I suppose is the case for every store near me.
Hasbro's big mistake was not distributing them properly IMO. Too many reissues and figures that no one really cares about that would fill up shelves enough that retailers wouldnt re-order.
Also doesnt help that places like my area get nuts 5 months after everyone else, if we get them at all.
I also have a feeling they're putting too much stock into the hopeful success of the 3-3/4" line. They are pushing the heck out of it and I have a feeling it will meet with similar failure.

I sure hope this is inaccurate. The nearest TRU is a 35 mile round trip and I have to go through two stoplights littered w/pan handlers. If Hasbro "doesn't have any more room for them" then why keep making them. I like the online exclusive idea better........and I didn't like that.

this does stink, IMO making muggs exclusive only makes them harder to find. On an upside, even though my TRU is not that great. They have had lots of new muggs lately( lots or Punishers and jig saws, (the whole first wave of gi joe: multiple sets). So hopefully they'll continue to do so after this exclusive deal begins. Only down side it is so far from my house, I'll have to go outta my way after work to keep from costing so much in gas money.

Skip, when they said there was no room for Muggs, They were referring to retailer shelf space. Every brand only gets so much real estate on retailer shelves and with everything else that Hasbro is putting out in support of feature films i.e. GI Joe and Transformers, there just isn't any room for Mighty Muggs. Not when the shelves are full of "main line" products like vehicles, playsets, 12" figures, role play, etc. etc. Does this mean the end of Mighty Muggs? I don't think so, they might not be as plentiful as they use to be but I think Mighty Muggs have a big enough following, not just from fans but retailers as well, Muggs will continue through unconventional channels such as online sales, exclusives, and Hasbroshop.com Guess we'll just to wait and see guys. In the meantime make sure you show your Mighty Muggs support by going out and buying your weight in Mighty Muggs!

So like Jose said, Show your support. I dont think this TRU is a horrible idea. Just a set back, let's just be happy we will continue to get MMs.

This is good news for those of us in Ontario, Canada, since all we have are Toys R Us stores and no Targets at all. Yep!, this sure is great news... oh, right, I forgot us Canadians aren't special enough to get the good packaging... we get crappy generic boxes for most of the lines. We can't win! Why does Hasbro hate Canada! We're good guys, Hasbro, give us a chance... Basically, what I'm trying to say here is that it could be worse, my American friends... much, much worse...

I better see Darth Malak before the end of the line. Otherwise I might sob in the middle of the TRU aisle.

And I'd love to buy more before the move, but my Target is just as bad and there's a Target exclusive wave I'd love to see.....=/

Does anyone know if we'll still able to buy these future TRU-exclusive waves online? If so, I couldn't care less. If not, I will care...a lot.
