i'm not sure if there's any truth to this, but jediinsider.com has a different story to tell... saying the most recently seen wave of star wars muggs (hoth luke, gam guard, scout trooper, ben) will be the first TRU exclusive, AND online... and we already know (probably) they'll be available from hasbro... jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=11551not to complicate the matter further, but perhaps TRU is just the exclusive B&M store?

I actually think Muggs have a better change of staying above water if they were internet only as opposed to TRU only.

Wow, this is quite the crummy news. Muggs are the only toys/figures I collect, so if this is the beginning of the end, then I'll be very disappointed. It's bad enough that SoCal TRU's are pretty gross and there's only one that's local enough that I'll go to regularly (versus 3+ Target's).
It makes you wonder, though, what would've happened had TRU not stepped up with some shelf space? Like a few others have alluded to, the writing has kind of been on the wall in a way - with a lot of stores not consistently restocking, reissues, and all the shelf warmers, which obviously mean people aren't buying. I'm assuming Muggs never really caught on with the younger crowd since they don't do as much.
Long live Muggs!

This is indeed, horrible news. My mugg hunting just got infinitely harder.
