I just opened my Commander Gree. I was disappointed to find that he is stricken with the "hard plastic head syndrome". I know that we have all come accross this recently. Does anyone know why hasbro has made this change from the original material used for mugg heads? i dont like it at all!

Really? It's on the new ones as well? I figured it was just used on the re-issues for 2 reasons. 1) Save on materials (ololz oil costs!) 2) To differentiate originals from re-issues to appease the secondary market. But so very lame if it's on all of them now I liked the old material, it didn't feel so cheap like the hard, hollow plastic does.

Wait, did you day you opened up an exclusive? Ok so no one else has to do this. Pick up your mugg, look at its' head. if you see a seam going from ear to ear, then it is the plastic head model. If you do not see a seam, then hold the head between your palms (left and right) and give it a gentle squeeze, if it gives way a little or even a lot, then you have the older version.

This makes me very angry, I just checked last night on all of my muggs and the only three with the hard plastic heads were Chewie, Han and Vader but I bought them as wave 1 part deux. I also bought a Maul which I thought was another part deux but it turned out he was an original. I bought him at a comic book store only two days before vader and chewie, the comic book guy said that he just got him in the day before, so maybe that had something to do with it

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but my Exclusives had loose arms...

There is a difference in the material used to make muggs heads. originally, the heads were softer than then body of the mugg. now they seem to be made of the same hard plastic. the original heads are softer and of better quality i think.

Yeah I noticed this on the new Marvel figures. It is too bad but I have more of a problem with the paint job on the new Spiderman than the new materials.

I had also noticed this but because of the weight. If you have one with the good quality it feels much heavier. The hard plastic are lighter. To me it's not a big deal since it doesn't affect the quality visualy.
