I picked up Marvel wave 3 a few days ago from a target, where the guy told me that they only received one set in their shipment, and I got an odd combo of 3 plastics and one "vinyl" head. So from the same box I got two different styles of heads. Not sure what that means though. I don't know if mine were from the same box (there were multiple sets of Wave 3 when I picked them up), but I have the same situation. Ghost Rider is the only vinyl head. I'm curious which one of yours is vinyl. If it's ghost rider, I wonder if it has anything to do with his flames.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I would not have noticed without reading this topic. What difference does it make?

doesn't really make a difference but you can definitely feeling the difference. i prefer the vinyl ones but you can't tell the difference when displaying them. the vinyl just feel like more of a quality product and this could be the start of other product changes. i seen it in other toy lines before.

I opened a luke and a trooper to make a luke trooper and felt cheated by this horrid plasticity of their heads it just feels cheap - my lando however has the vinyl head - I don't want to open any others now in fear of plastic head stupidness.

The saga continues. For some folks, it's trite or unimportant. For others, it's a significent issue by itself. Still others are concerned that it might be a slippery slope (like those Movie Iron Men with wobbly arms!).... Time will tell!

I was indifferent about it till I actually noticed the problem. I kinda like the soft ones better.

The other reason I liked the softer heads is that you didn't have to worry about head damage or scuffs if they hit one another.

I find that it works on most of them (although I suspect that some delinquents such as Hulk and Wolverine will NEVER learn! ;D

I got into the game a little late, so my collection has quite a variety of softer and harder plastic heads. I honestly don't care if they have the harder plastic heads. Sure, the softer have more weight to them, and one could argue it makes it feel like more of a quality product, but those of you who are really upset about the change should ask yourself what it was that attracted you to Mighty Muggs in the first place. Are you collecting them because they are way cool looking, or are you stockpiling mass quantities of soft plastic for later use?
I understand how one's personal preference can cause disappointment, but I think that the whole thing has been blown out of proportion.

I was disappointied when I first found my HPH, but it's a minor inconvenience.

I would be very curious to hear the "official" Hasbro take on this (though I suspect the first part of the answer would boil down to "cost containment" and "pricepoint" and the other half would include the statement "we did not think that mass market consumers would be that concerned."
<sigh>
