Saw this during the Dark Knight movie previews, and it was so awesome that I just had to read the comic! (Yeah, I'm pretty late on the wagon...) It's no wonder the comic is legendary, it's a truly great read! (Rorschach custom will be mine once the blanks come out... hehe.) I went to the Watchmen panel at Comic Con and it was amazing, Zack Snyder and the movie cast were there to answer questions and show new unreleased footage. Man I totally can't wait til next year! ;D P.S. Youtube version is too bad-- if you can't see the preview in movie theaters, at least watch the high def! www.traileraddict.com/trailer/watchmen/trailer

I agree. Can't wait for this movie. But I wonder how well this movie will do in the theater.

Zack Snyder, the director, put all his efforts into making the movie as true as possible to the comic-- so it'll do well amongst us fans, hopefully! As for the general public, being a generally "dark" comic/movie and all, I'm not too sure either. But I'd rather have it be true to the fans than pander to general moviegoers, for sure!

Very good point. I would rather have comic movies stay true to the books. Than trying to please casual people. But look at TDK, that's a darker movie and it's doing amazingly in the theaters. Which of course is outstanding, because it's an awesome flick.

I agree, Heath Ledger really made the movie! (too bad about him, and all ) "Wanna see a magic trick??" Hehe. Then again, Batman is well known even to "casual" people, and it had a pretty good prequel movie too. Watchmen isn't quite -as- mainstream I'd say, and I think on the whole it's a lot darker in story than TDK. Yanno... giant blue man blasting people apart, Comedian being a douche *cough, understatement* to women, dogs and meat cleavers, the list goes on... D= ... Gonna be really interesting seeing how Zack Snyder pulls this off, LOL. Even if the movie's "dark" for audiences, I think the visual cinematography will be astounding, from what the preview shows!

When I went and saw TDK, I was so caught off guard and so frickin' excited when this trailer started. I think I was the only one in the theater who actually knew what it was at first! IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!! I have heard rumors that they stayed VERY close to the story, however, I heard they changed the "catastrophe" at the end...... like I said though, that's just what I heard.... can''t confirm anything.
Zack Snyder did wonders with 300, so I think he is gonna pull this one off.
Heath Ledger was amazing!

Lol, I'm one of those people who are guilty of not knowing what the preview was at first. But the trailer was so awesome that I went home and looked Watchmen up! Yeah I heard too that the ending was going to be different, and that makes me very suspicious. LOL. I think they said the killer squid would still be in, though...? Well, here's hoping they didn't change it to something too ridiculous!

Having been waiting years for someone to make this into a film.... (keeping fingers crossed). Hoping it will be as significent to superhero films as the comic was the the comics genre....

It looks cool for sure.
Has anyone else checked out the Watchmen animated comic book on iTunes? The first episode is out now and it's free. Pretty cool. I'm a late comer to Watchmen, as in the last year or so, and I can see why it's such a cool thing.
Also, Stephen King is doing an animated comic too. It's on iTunes for $4, pretty cool too.

I've got the animated comic, the free first chapter at least =D Only watched a bit, but it looks amazing so far (how do they animate that!? LOL.)
Dang I feel SUPER late (only discovered Watchmen in like.... the last MONTH or so. Haha...)
What's the difference between the Stephen King animated version and the first one? *goes to check it out*
