I own an OG Space Invaders. My (late) grandfather used to work for this guy who had a warehouse that he sold literally everything downstate. And one summer day my grandpa came pulling up in our driveway in a van. And in the van was a Space Invaders Arcade for me. And a pinball machine for my older sis. Still have it to this day.

Wow... that sounds great, xssocx. One of these days, I will have to get one. In my case, it would be a tough choice between the electronic arcade and a classic pinball machine , being a little older (LOL).

Buy an empty cabinet, drop in a cheap-o monitor and pc, and run MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) which will give you damn near every arcade game ever made.

I have a Donkey Kong Jr machine (straight out of The King of Kong)... got it from the guy who runs arcadehollywood.net Really good guy, sells his stuff on ebay. It's a MAME machine and has something like 3,000 arcade games on it. Highly recommended.

if you have just a little patience and technical ability you can learn to "repair" arcade cabs pretty easily.
here (near STL) Super Auctions comes through 2-4 times a year. i routinely buy cabs for $25 - $300 and resell them for $100 - $1000. some cleaning, some new buttons, and maybe some wiring and thats about it.

Does one of those machines with a bunch of games on it have Star Wars The Arcade Game? I have the real stand up version of Star Wars but the monitor is shot and it seems that no one wants to repair these anymore. I wish there was a way to upgrade it and still use the same cabinet and controls. I can't play the game right with a joystick or game pad. Gotta have the original flight yoke.
