Hello. This is my first attempt at customization and I decided to do Marvel's resident swamp creature, the Man-Thing! My goal is to capture the same artistic style (basic, yet detailed) of the figures and to replicate the style of the boxes as closely as possible (except for the bottom, where I put a Marvel Universe style description of the character complete with comic art) I'm trying to fool as many people as I can, and aside from my signature sticker on the box window giving it away, I hope to think I just may do so when I put it on the shelf alongside the rest of my Muggs Being a rookie, I realize now that I picked probably one of the most difficult of the 12 characters I'm planning to do ( I just got an airbrush for my Birthday and I'm learning to use it as I go. Also, the different masking phases took forever!) ... anyways, I hope to improve with practice. If you have any criticisms, feel free. It's the only way I'll get better. Anyways, check in every month or so, I have the boxes for the other 11 characters already done and all that's left is to paint the Muggs. I prefer to make some of the more obscure characters, so hopefully, you'll see something different Thanks for looking. P.S. I blurred the bottom of the box backs in the picture in Photoshop on purpose. I don't want to ruin the surprise lol.

Fantastic - one of my favorite characters and you have assembled the complete package with great skill. Kudos!

If the muggs line dies, I'm coming to you for my customs. Clean and just simple enough, just the way I like them. Muggs with insane detail aren't my thing; I'm absolutely in love with this. The eyes are perfect. If you ever care to sell a custom, hit me up. I'd love to own some of your work. Also, is there a reason you did the body backwards? It took me a moment to realize why his legs looked so strange.

Thanks for all the kind words and praise, everybody. To it's allourblood, Once I do the rest of the Muggs I'm planning, then I might end up doing commissions if I don't end up getting bored with doing them... which I doubt. Despite all the work, I'm having a lot of fun doing them ... I was wondering if anyone would notice it was backwards. It was unintentional. About halfway through, I noticed my mistake. If it was an actual human character, I probably would have scrapped it and started over, because I'm that anal about these things Luckily, of all the characters I'm going to do, the Man-Thing character is an animated mass of swamp vegetation and more of a mockery of a man than anything else, so in the end I think it was a happy accident that kind of works in the characters favor... uh, yeah. That's it lol... anyways, being a first-timer, I've learned from that mistake and it won't ever happen again... unless I decide to do another Man-Thing. The backwards look kind of suits him, I think, and he still fits in the box just fine ... thanks again. and you'll be the first to know if I decide to do commissions, itsallourblood

I'll level with you - I've made the same mistake. Very embarrassing story, but here it is: I had The Thing on my shelf for some time, when I realized his legs were backwards. I figured Hasbro had messed up, and I had a defective mugg on my hands. I was wicked bummed about this, and even planned to get a second. I picked up the poor little dude and it hit me. In a moment of great shame, I turned his head around a mere 180 degrees, slowly put him back on my shelf, dropped my head and walked away.

That is an amazing piece of work. I love the effort you put into capture the original art style for the character. He's very obscure but a favorite of mine.

Thanks, Scotman. Although I'm not from Wisconsin, I am Ontario, Canada's biggest Packers fan. I became a fan in '89 after seeing the instant replay game and haven't missed a game since, I almost got fired from a job once for calling in sick when everyone knew I clearly wasn't to watch them beat the Lions on American Thanksgiving and I almost missed season kickoff against Philadelphia two years ago because of a funeral. I drove twice the speed limit for over an hour to make it back home in time to keep my streak alive I made my lifelong dream come true and finally came down to Lambeau this past season (December against Houston on the frozen tundra, if only it would have snowed... otherwise, best setting ever), so now I can die a happy man ;D If you're a football fan, you owe it to yourself to go to Lambeau at least once. It's the most amazing experience ever!... but anyways, this is a Muggs forum, I suppose, so I'll quit talking Packers... it's all Scotman's fault, he got me started! ... but, yeah. I'm really trying to accomplish the trademark Hasbro style with my customs. I don't want them looking too out of place on my shelf. I figure I'll start off by counterfeiting Muggs and eventually work my way up to $20 bills lol
