From Atariage.com: "Paramount Pictures has given the green light for a movie centered around Atari's founder Nolan Bushnell. The movie, to be titled "Atari", is set to feature Leonardo DiCaprio as Nolan Bushnell. Atari was founded by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney in 1972 and the company would become a pioneer in arcade games, home computers, and home video games. Atari became a household name in the late 1970s and early 1980s with their wildly popular Atari 2600 video game console. Nolan Bushnell would later start several other companies after being forced out of Atari, the most successful of which was the Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant chain. "Atari" is being written by Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman, who apparently were able to convince Bushnell that they could "do his unique story justice". No word yet on when this film will reach theaters, but you can bet we'll be keeping a close eye on this one!" Your own Mightyfanatic is a big vintage retro gaming fan, so I at least will very curious what becomes of this .... It certainly is unusual news!

Very dolomite, very retro, very interesting. Leo is cool man. And I Am not just saying that because my gf thinks I look like him. lol. But really this movie could be good. But I wonder what drama could come of making the Atari system. Assuming its a drama........

He's actually quite an unusual character (read some interviews with him years ago)... even named by Newsweek as one of "50 Men who Changed America". Some background info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nolan_BushnellHere's a old Utube interview with him: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h93eLDhHqY8He's always a few steps ahead of the curve, no matter what he is doing ... heard that he's experimenting with totally eliminating counter staff at fast food restaurants in Calif in some chain, instead using touchscreens designed for the customer at their table. Think "Tony Stark" without the weapons ....

Think "Tony Stark" without the weapons .... I think that's a pretty good analogy.
