Needin some advise for a NOVICE toy collector...

Gramps here...
I'm working on completing my Star Wars Muggs collection, and I am close to completion. I was wondering if ya'll had any suggestions on the best ways to get some of these for cheaper than i've been paying. Normally I've been going to eBay and have been spending on average around $18 with shipping. Is that good? I'm brand new to eBay too, so am I not getting a good deal?

Here is a list of what i need to complete my collection (excluding wave 5)...

Boba Fett
Darth Maul
Mace Windu
Luke Skywalker
Jango Fett
Clone Commander Gree
Admiral Ackbar
Blackhole Stormtrooper

Any advise is very appreciated… Or comments… or any sort of communication…

How about getting in touch with darksidegames on these boards? He owns a store and will sell you all of these, iirc. Check the Trade Market board.

including shipping...not a bad deal for you....shipping is what kills you though....check hasbro.com...every once in a while they will begin selling some of the old ones you mentioned.

with shipping, $18 is good. But that's how shipping kills you. I've put together a complete collection (except for C-3PO) in the last month from ToysRUS, Target and WalMart. Ones like Boba and Maul are getting re-released if you just keep checking stores. Of course it's the trade-off of shipping vs gas.

Ill agree with whats been said for the couple I've had to use the bay for thats about the price I payed. My most expesive has been Gree won him for 12.50 but shipping was 10.00. Sometime you can also catch a good deal on whole waves too. I got the Yoda wave off ebay for like 40.00 shipped and if you can check at like odd times and you can catch a good late ender for cheap.

Definitely some good advice here ... in general, the MORE items you need, the BETTER it is to get as many as possible from as FEW sources as possible (since shipping charges are a killer!)

Like ericmuggs muggs said, try your local Wal Mart, Target and Toys R Us stores if they're not too far of a drive. With the exception of the exclusives I believe I've seen every mugg on the shelves at one time or another.

Anyway, I'm gonna hit up the Trade Board and see if i can get some offers there. I also contacted darksidegames and am waiting to get a response from him. I've checked all the big name stores in my area, but they seem to always have the same guys. But i'm sure that'll change soon enough. I'm just not a patient guy. But I also like helping out the little guys and getting stuff through trades and such. Kinda makes it more exciting...Ya know?

Anyway, keep the advise coming and if any of you have any other contacts that might be able to hook me up, let me know. Or if you have Muggs you are trying to get rid of, i'm down for a hook up. Thanks again!

i just went to shop.starwars.com/ did a search for muggs. They had a few there $12.99 and plus you could preorder wave 5 as well as ackbar and the trooper for $33 i think. Don't know what the postage to us would be, but to get wave 5 to Australia it cost me $30. That is preety cheap to get four of these to Aust. Might be worth a try.
