In response to DC Direct's apparent decision to allow the DC minimate line to "rest" after the next wave, drawing protest from loyal fans, there is a campaign to "send a message to DC Direct to reconsider. From RTM: Some of our forum members are organizing a "Buy DC MiniMates Day" promotion for this Wednesday, June 11th. The promotion is intended to get the word out that this is the last new DC MiniMates wave, and if we want DC Direct to continue we can show support for the line by buying those we want from this wave and any previous DC MiniMates we may have missed. Retailers will see if there is demand for more DC MiniMates, and if so, will hopefully pass the word along to DC Direct to let them know their customers want more! www.toymania.com/news/messages/10377.shtml

Being both a DC and Marvel fan, it's been great to be able (at least until now) to collect minimates of both properties in the identical scale and style. I'm definitely in the camp, hoping that DC Direct will re-consider its decision (especially since all independent reports seem to indicate the minimates are selling very well).

I don't get why DC is so intent on discontinuing Minimates. First C3 crashed and burned now this...
