darn the process is way too complicated and seems too expensive for me to take on The process was not actually as hard as it seems. It's actually all the masking tape that took up all the time. I just covered the whole thing between spraying each color. And there were only three colors on this mugg used so spray time took only like 30 minutes altogether. All you need is patience cutting out the pieces where you want it and take off the excess and then spray away. Now my next challenge is coming up with some a little harder....like war machine.... How do you work with tape, do you just use tape a big piece to the body parts and then use an Exacto knife to cut away what you don't want? Also, I don't have an airbrush machine, any chance that similar results can be had with spray paint cans? If so, what type of paint would you recommend?

I either do that with a big piece of tape, or i place the big piece of tape on a cutting mat and cut it out with the blade. I like using Olfa Blades because it's smaller but Exactos should do the job just fine. I think similar results can be achieved with spray cans because not that many colors were used. I havent used em in a while but Tamiya spray cans go on very smooth if you ask me.

Using the Tamiya spray paint, would I still need to primer the figure first?

Yes....primer helps the paint you're going to use help stick to whatever surface/media I leave on the original mugg paint and spray over it....i cant wait for the blank muggs...sometimes their coats are thick and paint patches stick out after priming which makes me have to do more work and sand it down and then repriming
