With the number of custom Mighty Muggs starting to increase, what's the most YOU would spend on one (I recently bought one on Ebay for about $50.00). What if it was a character you REALLY liked?
Ooh... try to imagine your favorite character as a custom on Ebay. How much would the Buy it Now have to be to make you wonder, agonize and ultimately reach for the Buy it Now button?
Be honest now... what's the MOST you would spend? (Not necessarily the amount you would prefer to spend)

$50 is the most I would consider paying, just because of the time and effort that goes into these customs. That being said, I don't think I would take the plunge and buy customs, never have, never will. Possibly try my own jittery hand at it, but thats about it.

Either we seem to have a consensus shaping up (in which case none of our posters paid the bigger bucks for some of the Muggs auctions online to date), or we're just being a tad "conservative" about what we'd REALLY pay if our "holy grail" of Mugg customs ever appeared on Ebay! While I paid $50+ for the Vision custom, I voted $75 because if certain DC characters appeared (and we really high quality) I could see myself breaking that $50 barrier!! (I wouldn't be thrilled about it ... but I would probably do it!)

well my thinking here is initially I wouldn't pay the premium for a MUGG that was custom made only because Hasbro MAY release it in a future wave...these Muggs are getting very popular now and I can see Hasbro making most of the Marvel and Star Wars Muggs in future waves. This is the ONLY reason why I wouldn't pay initially the premium price. I would hate to pay so much for a MUGG only to see it released in a few months time.

I would hate to pay so much for a MUGG only to see it released in a few months time. That is always the paradox and problem facing any purchasers of customs ... are you gambling that "your" characters won't get made, or are you that eager for your favorites, that it does not matter... I've seen comments from folks on other toy boards who buy customs who regularly joke that the fact that they have purchased a custom of a particular character practically guarantees that the company will make it in the next wave. More often than not, the line runs its course without certain "obscure" characters ever being made. Occasionally, I've even seen customs of characters that I liked better than the so-called "official" ones so, it really is a roll of the proverbial dice. The odds increase though, if you are getting customs of characters that are not licensed to the manufacturer ... So I guess it's either "delayed gratification" or "feeling lucky".... as long as you are happy with the custom in question, it really doesn't matter so much ... at least to me (unless you paid mega bucks for it ... )

100.00 just seems too steep for me...but after you put it that way..describing the time and effort and money it takes to make one of these MUGGS...i may lean the other way. it would have to be for a MUGG that i really want.
