I just got back from a Mugg hunt, and one of the Targets I went to told me they couldn't sell me all 3 of the Muggs I had. They were all different, so it wans't like I was trying to corner the market on them. They said there was a limit of 2 "collectible" items per adult per day. I saw nothing posted anywhere stating this, and I've been to other Targets in the last few days and bought more than 2 Muggs at some of them. Anyone else run into this at Target (or any other stores)?

They were all different characters??? That is just bizarre.. I have NEVER heard of that before. Anybody else?
And by the way, oldguy, if your age is correct in your profile, then you're not so old (either that or I'm just a lot older.. hah hah by a decade or so!) Either way, welcome aboard!!!

They didnt limit Clone Wars stuff. So I don't see how they'd limit this. Unless the person limiting you was a closet Mighty Muggs collector and didn't want you taking them all from him

Ask to see the manager they are a store after all and the top and bottom is they want your money. It shouldn't matter what the amounts you are buying as long as you have the cash to pay for it.

Actually it was a manager (of sorts). She was the only one working there that was over the age of 19. They were 3 different muggs (Yoda, Boba, Stormie) too. I hid Boba and figured I'd just come back later in the day. Luckily I didn't have to. I went to ToysRUs where there was a line waiting for them to open. Marvel Mighty Muggs Wave 4? No, it was for Wiis and Wii Fits. I went inside and what was sitting on the shelf just waiting for a home? Boba Fett. I picked him up, and a Wii Fit too (mob mentality I guess). Now if all my outstanding orders come in, I have all the Muggs of all three families except for Venom. Not bad for someone who never heard of Muggs until I saw them at Comic Con!

Well, glad at least that the story had a happy ending .... Vote with your feet and shop elsewhere (now, eating with your feet... that is an entirely different matter...)

Stupid collector policy. The computer usually comes up with a warning if you try and buy more than 2 of any same dcpi numbered product. And since target doesnt differentiate between each model of mugg you get the error. I've gotten it before as well if you explain to the cashier they usually override it. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

About two months ago I called a local target and asked the guy in the toy department to see what muggs they had. He told me he could not tell me over the phone which ones they had because they were collectibles. I said I live 15 miles away and you want me to drive there not knowing what I'm going to find. He said sorry but he couldn't even check for me. I called right back and got a different person and asked about the muggs. He immediately told me which ones were there but said he could not hold any because they were collectibles. These guys and there policies.

I don't think that it is a collectible policy, I think that either a) Some Target employees are lazier than Walmart employees b) Target managers has told their employess not to give out the info in hopes of getting you into the store in hopes that you will buy more than what you originally want, or if you dont find what you are looking for then you would buy somehting else as to avoid a wasted trip and then there is the impulse buy.
Just my opinion, but I really opt for b as a would offend some including the one member who works at Target, but no offense was intended.

I have bought 3 at a time before. They were all different so i don't know if that makes a difference. If someone told me i couldn't purchase something that was on the shelf i would speak to a manager and if that wasn't good enough i would contact corporate. You will see how threating to go up a level how quickly someones views change. People would do it all the time when i worked customer service.

I have never had a problem with buying 3+ figures at a time at Target. So far I have done that 3 times (3 figures twice and 4 once) at two Targets and they have never said anything to me.

Seriously, if I went to Target and anyone tried giving me some crap, I would probably blow a gasket. These things are too hard to find. I would lose it.
They would feel the force of the Yeti's paw! Yarrrgghhhh!
